Cake balls for Delaney's party!

I thought I would share a recipe that I made for Delaney's birthday party. It's fairly easy to make, the hardest part is dipping them in chocolate. I used a Betty Crocker yellow cake mix, whipped butter cream frosting and chocolate wafers. You will also need wooden skewers, or an egg separator for dipping the cake balls into the melted chocolate.

v  Bake cake as directed
v  Let the cake cool for at least half an hour
v  Crumble the cake and add whipped frosting
v  Put this mixture in the refrigerator, covered, for at least 3 hours
v  Roll the cake mixture into balls, put on cookie sheet lined with wax paper
v  Place into freezer for at least an hour
v  Melt chocolate wafers
v  Dip the balls into the melted chocolate
v  Place in refrigerator to set.

These were a hit at the party!

 Some other examples:
Strawberry cake, white frosting, dipped in dark chocolate
(taste like chocolate covered strawberries)
German chocolate cake, pecan coconut frosting, dipped in chocolate almond bark
Red velvet cake, cream cheese frosting, dipped in chocolate or white chocolate
 So many yummy possibilities! :)

Enjoy!
Thanks for stopping by!

Yum! These look delish! I'll have to try your recipe as I have been hearing so much about cake pops, which are the same as your cake balls with a lollipop stick stuck in them. I wish I had one right now, as a matter of fact!
